Self-Guided Garden Tours Now Available
November 6, 2018
Try one of our free, self-guided garden tours the next time you’re at Edison Ford. There are three available tours: one directing you to more than 60 different species of palms, one that takes you to living examples of several items you probably have in your home (hint: vanilla and allspice) and another that focuses on plants used throughout history and cultures, like the kapok. These tours are an excellent way to sneak in a little learning for kids or yourself! School groups and homeschoolers can easily add a self-guided tour to their visit. The kids might even surprise you weeks afterwards when they remember the plant that made their vanilla ice cream taste so good!
The tours are on laminated cards available in the Edison Ford museum after you’ve paid your admission or shown your membership card at the Ticket Office.
You can also join our weekly Garden Tours on Wednesdays at 10:30 am. These 90-minute tours dive into the history of Edison’s rubber plants as well as cover what’s in bloom that day, fruiting plants and other botanical wonders.
