Yoga and Meditation Classes Offered at Edison and Ford Winter Estates

FORT MYERS, Fla. (March 27, 2019) — New health and wellness programs are being offered at Edison and Ford Winter Estates. “Yoga Along the River” will be held on April 6 and April 20 at 9:30 a.m. in the river pavilion. Then, on May 18, “Full Moon Meditation Alchemy of the Senses” will be offered at 11 a.m. in the Edison caretaker’s house.
Although Yoga has been around for more than 5,000 years, it has become increasingly popular during the past decade and is known to offer many health benefits. This one-hour yoga class allows guests to step away from all the 21st century gadgets and focus on the moment.
The class will be taught by a certified yoga instructor from Gulfshore Yoga. Participants should bring a yoga mat, water and a towel. The skill level is beginner to intermediate. Cost of each class is $15 for Edison Ford members and $20 for non-members. Admission to the site is not included.
In the meditation class, participants will learn how to relax, breathe and enjoy a personal journey through sound vibration with singing bowls and drums. Meditation has been shown to reduce stress and help people experience a deep sense of peace. The class is taught by Dolores J. Gozzi, a Licensed Massage and Alternative Therapist (MA37360).
Participants should bring something to lie on such as a yoga mat or towel, water and a small pillow. Cost of the meditation class is $20 for Edison Ford members and $25 for non-members. Admission to the site is not included.
Registration for both the yoga and meditation classes is available online at EdisonFord.org.
