Wood Slabs from Mango and Shaving Brush Trees Available at Edison and Ford Winter Estates
FORT MYERS, Fla. (April 11, 2019) — Wood slabs from Mango and Shaving Brush trees are available for purchase at Edison and Ford Winter Estates. With very unique patterns and rich colors, the wood of both trees is valuable to furniture makers and woodworkers. The large slabs could be used for table tops, bars or even benches.
Both trees were old and had been declining in health. The Mango is believed to be one of the original trees that was growing on the Ford property when Henry Ford owned his estate and is probably at least 90 years old. The Shaving Brush was likely planted within the last 40 years and is a rare tree, so wood slabs are not readily available.
The Mango slabs range in length from 49″ to 71″ and 21″ to 44″ wide. The Shaving Brush slabs range from 64″ to 69″ long and from 13″ to 44″ wide. The wood is priced at $25 per board foot for the Mango and $30 per board foot for the Shaving Brush. Click here to preview available items (subject to change).
