Summer Plant Sale at Edison and Ford Winter Estates-Estates open seven days a week
FORT MYERS, Fla. (June 3, 2020) — On June 13, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Edison and Ford Winter Estates will hold it’s first summer plant sale. The sale will take place outdoors, in the garden shoppe and surrounding areas. The shoppe is stocked with new plants and three vendors will be on site, including Calusa Palms, Sunland Orchids and Deep South Natives. Horticulturists will staff a “Garden Guidance” table and answer guests’ gardening questions (vendors and “Garden Guidance” table on site until 2 p.m.).

The Garden Shoppe at Edison and Ford Winter Estates offers a large selection of quality plants and trees in a unique setting.
Admission to the plant sale is free. A limited number of garden carts are available, so guests are encouraged to bring their own. Additional discounts are available for members (guests can join that day and get the discount). Refreshments will be available for purchase.
The Garden Shoppe offers a unique place for gardeners to shop for quality plants. A large selection of flowering and fruit trees, butterfly plants, herbs, succulents, orchids, rare exotics and Florida natives are available. Wind chimes, fountains, ceramic flower pots and garden art are also offered. The Garden Shoppe is open seven days a week from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Visitors will also be able to enjoy the botanical gardens, historic homes and museum store (all open seven days a week). The site includes more than 20 acres of gardens in a park-like setting with large shade trees and a scenic river view. Guests can take a self-guided tour of the gardens and stroll outside on the porches of the historic homes and view into the interior lifestyle of Thomas Edison and Henry Ford. The museum and laboratory remain closed.
Discounted admission tickets are available for visitors and member guests (through June 29): adults, $15; teens (ages 13-19), $10; children (ages 6-12), $5; children 5 years old and younger will be admitted free. No coupons or other discounts will be accepted. Visitors are encouraged to purchase tickets in advance online. Touring the gardens is always free for members. To ensure social distancing, guided tours are not being offered at this time.
