New App Launched at Edison and Ford Winter Estates
FORT MYERS, Fla. (October 23, 2019) – On November 4, Edison and Ford Winter Estates is launching a new app for use on the Audio Tour. The app 
contains commentary for both adults and children and also includes historic photos. With the app, staff will be able to update content as needed and add information about new exhibits and events to give visitors a better experience. Content is available in English, French, German and Spanish.
The app is available for both Android and Apple devices and can be downloaded via the free Wi-Fi service available in select areas of the site at Edison Ford. It will replace the hand-held audio wands previously used with the tours. There is also a call-in option for any visitors without an Internet-capable device and a printed script is available upon request. The app is fully accessible and has special features for visitors with hearing aids or those seeking visual assistance. Phone charging stations will be available throughout the site.
In addition to the Audio Tour, the Site Historian-led Guided Tour is available every hour, on the hour from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Several specialty tours, including the Automotive Tour, Inside-the-Lab Tour, Inside-the-Homes Tour, Garden Tour (reservation only) and tours in German are also available. The site is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and until 9 p.m. during Holiday Nights. Additional information on tours times, ticket prices and events is available on our visitors page.
