Leap Day Garden Party and Cocktail Chemistry Classes at Edison and Ford Winter Estates

Visitors tour the Moonlight Garden at Edison and Ford Winter Estates.
FORT MYERS, Fla. (January 15, 2020) — On February 29, from 6-9 p.m., Edison and Ford Winter Estates will kick off its first Garden Party and Cocktail Chemistry Class. The event takes place on Leap Day, making the celebration extra unique.
The organization is partnering with Wicked Dolphin Rum Distillery and Elite Bartending School to offer visitors and members a new experience. Attendees will receive a complimentary welcome cocktail, light hors d’oeuvres, a Moonlight Garden tour, and entry to the new “Ford’s Factory” art exhibit. Live music will be performed by David Rojas, and visitors might see a beautiful sunset over the Caloosahatchee.
In the optional Cocktail Chemistry Class, attendees will learn the craft of creating delicious drinks. Cocktails will be made using Wicked Dolphin rum and botanicals sourced from the Edison Ford gardens. Class sizes are limited; each participant will make two cocktails.
“This new event gives visitors a chance to see the Moonlight Garden in the evening,” said Debbie Hughes, Horticulture Director. “The garden is a historic treasure and was created for Mina and Thomas Edison to enjoy under the moonlight. It’s full of sweetly-scented white flowers like Gardenias that bring back childhood memories.”
Tickets will be available online and are $30 for Edison Ford members, $35 for non-members and $40 on the day of the event. The Cocktail Chemistry Class is an additional $20 for members and $25 for non-members.
