Edison and Ford Winter Estates Welcomes the American Sirens
FORT MYERS, Fla. (November 24, 2020) — Edison and Ford Winter Estates will kick off the 45th Holiday Nights celebration with the annual tree lighting ceremony on November 27. Starting at 5 p.m., the American Sirens — a female singing trio — will entertain the audience with a 1920s style jazzy medley.

Visitors admire the decorated homes and gardens during Holiday Nights at Edison and Ford Winter Estates.
The group has performed at Walt Disney World, Sea World, Busch Gardens, and Universal Orlando, as well as being contracted entertainers at Four Star resorts, luxury holiday tree lighting ceremonies and various private events and theater runs around the country.
Then at approximately 6 p.m., NBC2’s Dave Elias will officiate the count down and the Mysore Fig tree will come to life with animated lights choreographed to holiday music. The decorations will incorporate this year’s theme “Sounds of the Season” with musical elements. To allow for social distancing, this year the tree lighting will take place on the Ford lawn, around the Mysore Fig. The event is sponsored by FPL, Sanibel Captiva Community Bank, and Sunbelt Rentals.
Visitors can see the lights through January 3. Guided Holiday Tradition Tours will be offered at 6 and 7 p.m. every night and visitors can also take self-guided tours of the site. Guided, Inside-the-Homes tours will be offered on December 2, 9 and 16 for a special up-close look at the homes’ interiors. The museum and lab will be closed during Holiday Nights.
Families can stroll through the Children’s Tree Trail, which features dozens of trees decorated with handmade ornaments from Lee County school children. This year, the tree trail will be displayed along the Ford property, where visitors will have room to adequately social distance. WGCU is the Children’s Tree Trail sponsor. A video message from Santa will be shown in the Caretaker’s House, carolers will stroll the grounds on select nights, and the Fort Myers Mastersingers will perform on December 17.
The Ford Cottage Shoppe, Museum Store and Garden Shoppe will be open until 9 p.m. every night and will be stocked with unique gift items for that hard-to-buy-for loved one. Several vendors will be on site Friday and Saturday evenings with refreshments available for purchase. For everyone’s safety, masks are required during Holiday Nights.
Holiday Nights tickets for adults are $20, teens (13-19) $10, children (6-12) are $2 and Edison Ford members get in free.
