Edison and Ford Winter Estates Holds Robotics Open House
FORT MYERS, Fla. (May 7, 2024) — Edison and Ford Winter Estates (EFWE) is holding an open house on Saturday, May 18 at 9 a.m. to introduce two of its robotics teams, “Assembly Required” and “jEdison Knights.” Parents and students will have an opportunity to meet the coaches, tour the facility, and engage in robotics activities.
Currently, EFWE hosts four robotics teams; the other two are “Batteries Included” and the “Wired Wizards.” Parents and students who are interested in being a part of the program are invited to attend the event and talk with the teams’ coaches. Attendees will also have the opportunity to learn more about FIRST Robotics and the First LEGO League organization.
“Nearly every field going forward will include some element of code, and as technology advances, so will the applications for robotics,” said Pearce Augustenborg, education manager and robotics coach at Edison and Ford Winter Estates. “In the robotics program, students not only learn about robotics, but also the soft skills necessary to navigate the increasingly competitive world.”
Registration is required for the open house at Robotics Open House at the Edison and Ford Winter Estates Tickets, Sat, May 18, 2024 at 9:00 AM | Eventbrite.
The event is free, but does not include tours or admission to the museum, laboratory or riverside of the property. The EFWE robotics program is sponsored by TLC Engineering Solutions, LCEC, FPL, Entech, and Ronin Charities. For more information about educational programs at EFWE, visit EdisonFord.org.
