Camps for Kids Offered at Edison and Ford Winter Estates

Students learn about science, technology, engineering, art and math in camps and classes at Edison and Ford Winter Estates.
engineering, art, and math), history and the natural world when school is closed. Camps are taught by the Edison Wild Wizards in the “living laboratory” at the Estates and run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. Edison Ford members receive discounted registration fees.

FUNdamental Physics
Ages 6-12
September 16, 9 a.m.
In this entertaining and educational one-day camp, students will learn the fundamentals of physics from the science of sound and light waves to Newton’s Laws of Motion. Edison Ford members: $45; non-members: $50
Spooky Science
Ages 6-12
October 15, 9 a.m.
In keeping with the Halloween spirit, students will create some wild and wacky science experiments in this one-day camp including a glowing lava lamp and several forms of slime. Students are invited to take part in this crash course in mad science. Edison Ford members: $45; non-members: $50
Code Camp
Ages 6-12
November 22-24, 9 a.m.
This popular three-day camp teaches the basic logic of computer science. Campers will explore loops, switches, and functions that make up the building blocks of video games. They will get to take home a drive with their creations and a library of code examples. Edison Ford members: $120; non-members: $145
Creative Chemistry
Ages 6-12
December 20-23, 9 a.m.
Participants will learn about chemistry through experimentation during this creative four-day camp. Subjects of study include: crystals and minerals, slime (polymers), chemical reactions and more. Edison Ford members: $160; non-members: $185
Design & Innovation
Ages 6-12
December 27-30, 9 a.m.
Following in the footsteps of Edison and Ford, campers will unlock their inner inventor and designer during this four-day camp. They will learn how to make things using computer aided design (CAD) and a 3D printer. In the camp, the Edison winter home becomes a subject of study as the young inventors create a digital model of the famous house. Edison Ford members: $160; non-members: $185
