Kristie and Stephen
April 27, 2020
Where did you meet?
Kristie and Stephen lived in the same neighborhood for many years; although, they never knew it. (They slyly admit that the Internet helped them figure it out!) With overlapping social and professional circles, it was just a matter of time until they met.
Who popped the question? Where? When? How?
Kristie started the ball rolling by saying to Stephen “… don’t freak out” and then showing him pictures of her dream wedding.
Stephen, being the smart man that he is, caught the hint and ran with it. He purchased a ring from Tiffany & Co. and waited for the right moment, which was immediately upon the ring’s delivery to his house. They went to a local park, where he gave Kristie a card with a Bible verse on it: John 4:23 “The time is coming and now is here!” She happily said yes.
Why did you choose Edison and Ford?
Throughout their planning, Kristie and Stephen were fond of saying, “This isn’t our first rodeo, you know.” It was not going to be a first marriage for either of them; they both have grown children and accomplished careers. Kristie says, “We knew we wanted to go someplace uniquely special to the two of us, not someplace that was special to only one of us.” Having visited Edison and Ford Winter Estates earlier in the year, they knew they loved the grounds, the weather and the Fort Myers area. Stephen called to check on availability, and the date was set.
Favorite memories?
The day was perfect. The weather was beautiful: a small rain shower passed through and then the sun came right back out. The grounds were magical. The photo shoot was a blast. Everyone was relaxed and happy. Not one moment could have been better.
Advice to those planning a wedding?
