The crown jewel for many gardeners is roses and it was Mina Edison’s favorite plant here at Edison Ford. But oh, what she didn’t know! Forget everything you know about growing roses up north and join us to learn the tried and tested techniques and tips to have roses blooming year-round in your South Florida garden. You will learn about the importance of rootstock, identifying problems, best preventative programs for pests, choosing proven performers for South Florida, proper feeding and soil amending as well as pruning techniques.
Price: Members – $45 and Non-Members -$55. Participation limited to 25. Advance Registration Required. Bring notebook, pencil, water, sunscreen and comfortable walking shoes. Most classes average 90 minutes in classroom with a 30-minute outdoor component. Our classroom is air-conditioned and accessible for mobility impaired. Each class will have a 10-minute break. Access the classroom via the walkway next door to Larchmont Avenue with convenient adjacent parking. All participants receive a 20% discount coupon for plants in our Garden Shoppe.
