Ryan & Gabriella
June 15, 2020
Ryan and Gabriella recently shared their story with us.
Where did you and your fiancé meet?
We met on the first day of orientation for law school at the University of Alabama. But the first time that we saw each other was the previous evening – some students had gathered at a local restaurant before law school officially kicked off. Unfortunately, I did not get a chance to speak with Gabriella that evening. So when I arrived at school for orientation, the first thing I did was introduce myself to her. From that point on, we were always with each other.
Who popped the question? How? Where? When?
We were staying at her parents’ home in Fort Myers during our Christmas break. I woke up early to get her flowers, macarons and chocolate-covered strawberries. After waking her up with the flowers and candy, I took her to her favorite downtown restaurant for brunch. That late afternoon, we ventured to Barefoot Beach. We arrived, crossed the boardwalk, and set out along the shore. As the sun began to set, I turned toward Gabriella and took my place on one knee. Presenting the ring to her, I asked her to be my bride. She said yes. We captured the event on the beach with a photoshoot from Set Free Photography. After spending a quiet dinner at the Veranda, an old southern home-turned-restaurant, we returned to Gabriella’s parents’ house. Family and friends greeted and congratulated us. We celebrated until the early hours in the morning.
