Internships
Interns receive valuable training at the Edison and Ford Winter Estates as part of a university-approved internship. University students are welcome to apply for internships in the events and education departments. One intern is chosen per semester, per department. All applicants must be able to work a set schedule each week, whether it is one or two days, and be flexible to work weekend event hours.
To be considered for an internship at Edison Ford, students will be required to:
- Follow the process required by the school to arrange for credit and a faculty sponsor. Interns are responsible for meeting all internal application requirements and deadlines set by their institution.
- Submit a letter of recommendation from one academic or professional reference. The academic reference should be from a college faculty member who can speak to your writing abilities and your general academic performance. The professional reference should be from someone who has worked with you and knows you well, such as an employer, coach, advisor, church or scouting leader, volunteer manager, or someone in a similar role who can speak to your character, work ethic, and interpersonal skills. Please do not use a family member or personal friend as a reference.
- Prepare a resume and cover letter describing your work, volunteer, and academic experience, demonstrating why you meet the qualifications for the internship. Your cover letter should be formatted like a business letter.
If you are interested in applying, download the Edison Ford Student Intern Volunteer Application and Contract; email the completed documents with a cover letter, resume, and reference letter to employment@edisonfordwinterestates.org. All applications and resumes will be reviewed and you will be notified of the status of your application.
