Best of the 2019 Holiday Nights Children’s Tree Trail
This year, nearly 60 local schools participated in the annual Children’s Tree Trail, a community art exhibit that runs during Holiday Nights! Each school created largely recycled art displays building on the central theme of “River Reflections.”
Adding to this year’s exhibit, Alliance for the Arts Gallery Director Ehren Gerhard helped to judge the nearly 60 decorated trees, selecting winners for a variety of categories:

- Best of Show: St Andrews Catholic, Angel Sculpture
- Best Overall Theme: Harns Marsh Middle, Mermaid/Merman Tree
- Most Colorful: Rayma C. Page Elementary, Bottle Streamers
- Best Star: Estero High School, Fishing Santa
- Best Ornaments: North Fort Myers Academy for the Arts, Assorted Puffer and Angler Fish; Mariner High School, Paper Mache Eggs; Weaver Hipps Elementary, Paper Mache Manatees; Cypress Lakes Middle, Found Objects, Paper Mache Buoys, Woven Tapestries
- Best Garland: Oak Hammock Middle, Can tabs
- Most Creative Use of Materials: St. Francis Xavier, Bottle Caps, Pipe Cleaners and Bead Garland, Epoxy Painted Lids
Thank you to Ehren Gerhard and the Alliance for the Arts for making this event even more special. Thank you to Storm Smart, the sponsor for the Children’s Tree Trail, for making stipends available to cover the costs of teachers participating in this year’s event. And thank you to all of the teachers and students who participated in this year’s incredible display! The Children’s Tree Trail is open through December 30, 2019.

- General Electric
- LCEC
